Turkey National Maternal Mortality Study

General Information

Turkey National Maternal Mortality Study aims to make estimates for maternal mortality rate and ratio, as well as to provide information that is needed to improve existing registration and notification systems. The sample design of the National Maternal Mortality Study enables analysis for 12 NUTS-1 and urban and rural regions throughout Turkey.

Turkey National Maternal Mortality Study is conducted between October 2004 and December 2006 period and the Study is a project of the Ministry of Health. Turkey National Maternal Mortality Study was carried out by an international consortium involving ICON-INSTITUT Public Sector GmbH (Germany), Hacettepe University Institute of Population Studies (Turkey) and BNB consulting (Turkey) within the "Turkey Reproductive Health Programme".
